Carmel Breslin is a professor in the Department of Chemistry at Maynooth University in Ireland. She completed a PhD in Physical Chemistry in 1991 at the National University of Ireland Galway and worked for brief periods at the Centre for Advanced Materials at Penn State University and at the University of Southern California. Her research interests are in Electrochemistry, Materials Chemistry and Environmental Electrochemistry. She has published 97 research papers (available in Scopus) in areas encompassing electrochemical sensors, electro-Fenton, electrocoagulation, conducting polymers, hydrogels, cyclodextrins, graphene, MXenes, metal nanoparticles, pitting corrosion and corrosion protection.
